Unanswered questions

Sheena tiptoed into the room to check if everyone was sleeping. Once she was sure she closed the door as lightly as possible and went into the television room. She under no circumstances could miss the show today. They had promised her that …..her thoughts trailed away to the beats of the programme. After what seemed like an eternity her poem was read out. Sheena was visibly upset with the person reading it; there was no passion or any enthusiasm. Almost at this thought her cell rang and she answered it with as much poise as she could. ‘Hey Sheena did you see that, my God why did they get her to say it, she was so…Sheena you there?’ “Yes… yes very much on the line, actually I quite liked it Gaby. What was wrong? I enjoyed listening to my words. It’s a great feeling.” ‘Oh…you are right I never looked at it like that. Yes. I’m happy for you. Well done!! Speak to you tomorrow then. G’nite Sheena.’ “G’nite.”

Wow, what was that Sheena thought to herself? Why did she contradict her feelings? She switched off the television and closed her eyes. Maybe it was stress which was getting to her. She entered this competition much against the wishes of her family. Getting featured on the show and winning the competition meant a lot to her. But why did she lie she mused. Why did she have to defend when she agreed with Gaby. Was it insecurity? Was it an ego issue? Sighing aloud she shook her head. Finally, with no concrete answers to fill the gap she drifted off to sleep.

I liked the questions you raised. I have no answers though. I have had issues accepting myself at times :)

Sometimes all there seems to linger are questions with no answers.
