Deep Thoughts!

An interesting thought was playing in my mind today, is it necessary to become one of the ‘people’ within the workplace if you want to be welcomed or even find a footing in the workplace…..is it necessary to dress, speak, follow, imbibe certain styles so that you don’t feel left out.
Every workplace place will have their own set of ethics and codes to be followed but is it imperative that we even follow the gossip to ‘fit in’. University and college days were different- U were influenced by peer pressure, fashion all part of growing up. I’m imagining that college and workplace are different entities altogether, or are they? It could be the same fad only a bit more polished and mature….who knows???
This is a culture I sometimes even see penetrating homes, within families, friends, society….. just about everywhere to be honest.
We are constantly trying to find a niche for ourselves all the time, till we cannot any longer and then we give up and become a ‘weirdo’. I’m not sure if there are many who consciously decide to follow their heart and listen to their inner feelings, but then this constant crave for acceptance is I guess what makes a society.

Aah..i like this bitter fact of life. People crave for being followed by fans, receive testimonials, praised in whatever we do in maybe daily chores, give some importance to whatever views we share, receive loads of emails (maybe jokes or junks). This is actually true for all age ..college/school, office or at home.

Its true we always try to do what pleases others, what looks good to the society.. But are we happy at doing that? may be.. may be not... and if you do what pleases you, then you are termed as selfish..
