Yesterday, I was a little girl with a smile
I carried my heart and soul refined
I hopped and skipped as I walked around
Seldom halted to look around
No judgments and prejudices I then held
Knew the world to be my family as I dreamt
Today, I am wiser and I frown
Know the world to be different, as I hound
My ideas and dreams
All wrapped up, in my sleeve
I walk and stumble
Only to find everything rumble
At present I'm happy and content
I know the difference between now and then
I see my loved ones wave at me
Though at a distance they are still with me
I have hope and I have faith
Love that grows and a life that never fails
